Pumpkin Painting!

This last meeting was a blast! It was so nice to have some down time to paint some pumpkins and get in the Halloween mood with a Charlie Brown movie. Below are some pictures of all the beautiful pumpkins. The girls did a fantastic job! This Saturday at 11am we will be delivering them to the local nursing home for Make a Difference Day. I’m sure these pumpkins will put smiles on their faces.

Thanks to everyone for coming out and painting the pumpkins!

Our next meeting will also be quite crafty. It will be Fall Crafts on Wednesday, November 2nd 6-7pm in Chem-Sci 101. Hope to see you there!

Halloween Party!

Hey SWEsters!  Don’t forget tomorrow is our annual pumpkin painting and Halloween costume party.  We’ve had quiet a few meeting pertaining to professional and career development in the last month, so it’s time for a more relaxed and social one now that the fall career fair is over.

What:  SWE General Meeting – Pumpkin Painting
When: Wednesday, October 24 | 6-7pm
Where: ChemSci 101

We will also be taking a picture for the ME-EM department tomorrow, so please remember to start our wearing some MTU apparel.  After the picture you will have time to dress up or dress down depending on what your costume is.  A short Halloween film will play while we paint pumpkins.  And yes, of course their will be some tricks and treats for all.

Get ready to be creative and paint some pumpkins for the elderly!  See everyone tomorrow.

Homecoming Wrap Up

Homecoming week was successful for SWE!  We had a lot of participants in the homecoming events and had some great turn outs in the rankings of all of the events.

Here are some pictures of SWEsters playing and working hard to get SWE points!

SWE members paint a window at the SDC for homecoming week.

Finished window for 2012 homecoming window painting at the SDC. Great job ladies!

So that was one of many events.  The list continues…

SWE also participated in the Turkey Trot, Tug-o-War, Kickball, Fans in the Stands, and we sponsored our section president Kodi for homecoming court.

SWE swept the top three places in the Turkey Trot with the following super fast runners:  Kelsey Michael, Erika Poli, and Katie Price.  Way to sweep the trot and be SWEet runners!

Kickball was played with a Disney princess ball and we made it to the semi-finals.  No win, but still loads of fun and a nice break from class work on Sunday.

Plenty of SWE members came out for fans in the stands in order to support Husky Hockey in their first game of the year.  The Huskies won and SWE was there to cheer them on.

Card Board Boat races were also refreshing.  A boat was constructed of cardboard and lots and lots of duck tape.  Below is a picture of members paddling their way back to the beach.

Getting Ready!

Again, congrats to SWE and thanks to everyone that participated!!!
